Spark DRM Transmitter Software for Testing and Field Trials

Description

Spark is a realtime modulator and transmitter software package for Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM). It also supports AMSS for AM radio, RDS for FM radio, and the MDI standard for DRM content management and signal transport.

The software is designed for DRM receiver testing and validation, exciter testing, MDI stream reception and generation, and OFDM signal generation. It supports multiple code rates, bandwidths, robustness modes, and mapping schemes defined by the DRM standard.

Spark includes real-time audio encoding for up to four independent xHE-AAC audio streams and can use the computer audio interface or AES/EBU connections for studio equipment. It is available for Windows and Linux and can be used with external RF devices such as LimeSDR, DiRaGen USB, National Instruments DAQ USB devices, and Ettus USRP equipment.

The site also describes automation features for remote control through Python and scheduled operation. A licensed version is offered for commercial use, while a trial version is available for evaluation.
