Description

Fraunhofer DRM ContentServer R8 is a professional head-end system for Digital Radio Mondiale broadcasting. It combines internal audio encoding, multimedia data management, and DRM multiplex generation in one platform.

The system is designed for use in studios, playout centers, transmitter sites, and network provider environments. It supports remote configuration and monitoring through a web interface, along with integration of external and remote audio encoders.

Documented functions include audio level normalization, backup audio encoding, redundancy group operation, and support for data provision through established protocols and APIs. The page also notes support for Journaline, CAP-based emergency warning functionality, and receiver development tools in a Developer Edition.

Fraunhofer positions the technology for broadcasters, community stations, local and regional services, and network providers. The page also indicates that the system is available in several editions and can be extended with additional features.
