FemTALK89FM is a community radio station operated by FemLINKPacific, dedicated to empowering women and marginalized groups in Fiji through inclusive broadcasting. Established in 2004 as the first mobile community radio in the Pacific, it provides a platform for rural women, young women, people with disabilities, and LGBTQI+ advocates to share their views on social, economic, and political issues.
The station broadcasts 24 hours daily from Suva with a 300-watt transmitter and maintains a mobile unit for rural outreach. Programming includes community news, weather updates, leadership stories, and discussions on human security and development priorities relevant to women.
FemTALK89FM emphasizes community engagement and two-way communication, enabling rural women leaders to act as first responders and advocates within their communities. The station supports diverse voices across Fiji and the Pacific, fostering inclusion and amplifying women's perspectives in local and national decision-making.
