Radio Tokelau operates a network of three low-powered FM radio stations serving the atolls of Atafu, Fakaofo, and Nukunonu. These stations were established through a New Zealand-funded project to improve communication and governance within Tokelau's village communities.

The stations provide local news, mayoral messages, boat schedules, interviews, and music, promoting the Tokelauan language and culture. Each station is managed by a committee with announcers who also act as reporters, supporting community engagement.

The project emphasizes the use of radio as a vital communication tool in a remote and cyclone-prone region, offering an alternative to traditional word-of-mouth and newsletters.
